Episode 13: Matt Gorniak, Ted Cohen, Rich Levandov

This week we had three guests that are working to drive innovation within their fields, particularly shifts that account for the uncertainty this pandemic has created. First up we had Matt Gorniak, CEO of Threekit, discuss how he built the next generation of ecommerce experiences through building 3D models of scale, allowing for tangible products to be realistically visualized in the retail and service domains. The ecommerce conversation led nicely into our next guest, Ted Cohen, who expanded on his experience as head of corporate development at mediatech ventures to talk through how the pandemic has changed the way people are connecting with music and artists, particularly how we can enhance music services to create a better consumer experience. We rounded this week’s episode off with Rich Levandov, general partner at Avalon Ventures. He used years of investing expertise to explain how the pandemic has emphasized the increased importance of understanding the technical founders of a company, reviewing risk through pattern recognition, and establishing an intuition based investing model in early stage investing.
